Selling Your Boat? Here’s What You Need to Know

If you are planning to sell your boat, there are a few important items to keep in mind regarding your slip at Grand Marina. When you have a prospective buyer, we strongly encourage you to direct them to the Harbor Office. Our team can provide information about the application process and determine whether they would qualify to remain in the marina. Please remember that slips are not automatically transferable with the sale of a vessel. Any new owner who wishes to stay must complete an application and go through the approval process. Approval is not guaranteed. It is also important to remember that your moorage agreement remains with you until one of two things occurs:

The slip is fully vacated, or

The new owner has been approved and a new agreement is in place.

Until that time, you remain responsible under the terms of your contract. If you are considering selling your boat, we are happy to answer any questions and help guide you through the process to ensure a smooth transition for everyone involved.

Recycling Reminder

We’re pleased to see our recycling bin getting so much use — it’s a great sign that our tenants are doing their part to help protect the environment. Great job, everyone!
That said, we’ve noticed that the bin can appear full sooner than expected. In many cases, this is simply because cardboard boxes and other large items have not been broken down, leaving a lot of unused space inside the container. To help us make the most of our recycling capacity, we kindly ask that all tenants please break down cardboard boxes and flatten bulky items before placing them in the bin.

A small extra step makes a big difference. Thank you for helping keep our marina clean and environmentally friendly!

Dock Etiquette Reminder

Boarding steps are a convenient way to get on and off your vessel, and many boaters prefer them over ladders for ease and comfort. To help keep our docks safe and accessible for everyone, we’d like to share a few basic dock etiquette guidelines:

Boarding steps should be no wider than half the width of the finger dock. Steps should be placed on the same side as your dock box. If you have a split dock box, please ensure your steps are not on the same side as your neighbor’s. Most importantly, steps should not create a trip hazard or an obstacle for someone stepping off a boat while docking. There’s nothing worse than ending a wonderful day on the water with an avoidable accident. A little consideration goes a long way in keeping our community safe. If you have specific needs that require your steps to be on a particular side and it conflicts with your neighbor’s setup, we encourage you to have a friendly conversation. Most situations are easily resolved when approached with courtesy and communication.
